After leaving Stockholm, and a brief stop in Karlstad for the e-18
loppet race, we made it to Forshaga. As this is the town where my
grandmother, Margit Vanja Bengtsson came from, it was a special stop
for my family.
Here is the location of the home we rented (via AirBnB):
This rental house had a lot of land and backed up to woods. Part of
the property was a barn that had a chicken coop and each day the kids
would feed and tend to the chickens and we would get fresh eggs each
morning. The house was also on a paved path that cut through Forshaga
and we would walk or roller-blade each day along this path.
While in Forshaga our days were spent shopping for food and cooking,
wandering around the beautiful countryside, taking fika, spending
time with cousins Peter and Ann Calen, taking the van for drives
around Forshaga and Karlstad, visiting Stormon, and just relaxing.
Here we are at the home of cousins Peter and Ann Calen, who were so
very kind to us while we visited Forshaga.
And here are Peter and Ann at our rental house …

Here are some of the wildflowers that grow all over Forshaga.
